Anyone contemplating a brief trip to the US, whether for travel or business, may need to obtain a visitor or transit visa.

A person’s fiancé (e) might be entitled to file for a US K-1 visa on their behalf if they are engaged to a US citizen, intend to marry, and live in the US.                     

The K-1 visa permits the person to visit the US and get married there within 90 days of arrival. 

 

They might seek a change in status after getting married in order to obtain a US Green Card.

 

A non-immigrant US visa is the B-2. The visa enables visitors to enter the US temporarily for purposes of tourism, recreation, or family visits.
